Overview
F2P is an acronym meaning "Free to Play." Servers which are F2P usually have half the normal experience and drop rates, as well as disabled skills and item drops. These servers are usually supported by extra Shop Items, and are generally not the most "friendly" towards players. Those wanting the full RO experience are highly encouraged to pay for a regular account instead.
Server Settings: Singapore/Malaysia
The Singapore/Malaysia version of Ragnarok Online has such an F2P server, with the following settings:
Experience and Drop Rates
Monsters give 50% of the experience they would on a regular server. Monsters no longer drop Empty Bottles, which are sold by an NPC instead. Creamy cards are removed from both Creamies and OCAs. Golden Thief Bug cards are no longer dropped as well. Dead Branches are only obtainable through Item Mall purchase.
Death Penalty
When a player dies (outside of WoE and PvP), there is a chance to drop equipped items. Instead of the normal 1% experience loss, players lose 5% of their base/job experience.
Kafra Services
Kafras no longer provide a teleport service.
Upgrading
Safe levels (I.E. up to +4 for any armor equipment) are removed. Level 3 and Level 4 weapons require 20,000 and 50,000 Zeny respectively, to be upgraded.
NPC Items
Butterfly Wings and Fly Wings are no longer sold through NPCs. Potions have level restrictions for use:
- Red Potion: Level 10+
- Orange Potion: Level 20+
- Yellow Potion: Level 35+
- White Potion: Level 50+
Prices of some items when being sold to NPCs are also changed.
