Beware of '''Elder Willows''' as they look similar but are strong at this point. Time can be saved by leveling off of Willows from 10/8 to 12/10 or so because the Trunks are needed anyway.

2. After enough Trunks are brought back, the player will have their job changed to Archer.

Rav:

Players looking to combat their friends, foes, or strangers can do so in the form of a PvP (Player versus Player) arena or the War of Emperium.

== PvP ==
Many cities have Inns that allow entrance to the PvP arena. Speaking to the Gate Entrance [[NPC]] brings up three options:

*'''Yoyo Mode''' - The 'safe' PvP mode, where death does not cause [[EXP]] loss or items to drop.
*'''Nightmare Mode''' - This mode was not very popular as there are are penalties upon death: EXP is lost, and there is a 1% chance to drop (and probably lose to another player) an item. (Currently disabled in iRO)
*'''Event Room''' - Restricted for events only.

After deciding which mode to use, there is a 500z fee to enter the Waiting Room in addition to the Level 31 requirement.

In the only current working mode, Yoyo Mode, there is just one NPC towards the North East that is the gateway to different maps where PvP is enabled and characters of all levels above 31 can enter. The level-specific rooms and corresponding NPCs were removed.

Select a map from this NPC to be automatically teleported to said map and spawn at a random point in that map. The available maps (which are not the actual cities, but scenaries located on a different server with PvP enabled that are accessable only through the Waiting Room; they do not even have NPCs on them) are:

*[[Prontera]]
*[[Izlude]]
*[[Alberta]]
*[[Payon]]
*[[Morroc]]

Once selecting a map, the player has 5 seconds of invulnerability upon spawning unless they move their character before this time ends. Then, they can immediately partake in PvP.

There are a few things that should be noted on PvP maps. The lower right of the screen now displays the player's rank in that map (i.e. 6/9: where 6 is the current rank in that map and 9 indicates the current number of people on that map). The goal is to kill numerous amounts of players while staying alive.

The scoring system works as such: upon entering a PvP map, the player is given 5 points. There is +1 point for every kill made on that map, and -5 points for every death of the player. If the points go lower than 0, the player will be booted out of the PvP map immediately without the chance to be [[Resurrection|Resurrected]] by a friend.

People within the top 10 rank of a map will have a graphic under their characters' feet. This graphics turn to a white colour the closer they become to rank 1. When rank 1 is achieved, then message 'TIME ATTACK!!' will appear on only the screen of the person who achieved the rank, and the game will begin to record the amount of time said player stays at rank 1 (also displayed for that player, but only for that session). This data is then saved, to be posted on the official site. Currently, iRO does not make use of this feature of the PvP arena.

All skills and items work in PvP arenas except the usage of Fly Wings and [[Teleport]]. For example, the Teleport feature of [[Snatch]] is disabled (which also applies to Wanderer-carded Garments).

To exit a PvP map, the player must relog, use a Butterfly Wing, be killed and respawn, or make use of another player's [[Warp Portal]] skill. There is no gate leading outside of the map.

== WoE ==
:''For information on WoE 2, see [[War of Emperium 2]]''

Arguably one of the most popular feature of Ragnarok Online, it pits guilds against other guilds, often involving lots of other guilds in the process.

[[Prontera]], [[Geffen]], [[Payon]], and [[Al De Baran]] have a nearby map where the Castles for WoE are located. Each map has 5 Castles that spawn an Emperium during the WoE hours, also at which time WoE PvP is enabled. Each castle gives items daily from [[Castle Treasure Drops|treasure boxes]].

To participate in WoE combat, the player must simply be in a guild that has a point invested in '[[Official Guild Approval]]' (requires only one guild level to attain). Otherwise, they cannot deal damage to Emperiums. They can however still attack others in Castles and be attacked.

The War of Emperium is a server-activated mode, meaning, it is only enabled at certain periods of time. On iRO these are (All times are Pacific):

{| class="wikitablec"
|-
! Server(s) !! WoE 1 Time(s) !! WoE 2 Time(s)
|-
| Main Servers || colspan="2" | Wednesdays 3:00pm - 5:00pm<br/>Saturdays - 7:00pm - 9:00pm
|-
| Valkyrie || Saturdays 3:00pm - 5:00pm || Tuesdays 4:00pm - 6:00pm
|}

===The Goal of WoE===
The overall goal is to destroy an enemy guild's {{monster|id=1288 Emperium}}, situated at the heart of their castle (always on level four, commonly referred to as "the Emp room"). Destroying their Emperium will allow the guild of the player who hit it last to overtake said Castle as theirs until either another guild destroys the Emperium or WoE ends (WoE mode will not stop until the designated WoE time is over). Because of this, it is common practice for guilds to attempt to hold off on breaking the Emperium of a castle they wish to capture until WoE is almost over, rather than breaking it near the start and having to defend their Castle for the full two hours of WoE.

Guilds often make alliances for mutual benefits of keeping the Castles and keeping would-be conquerors at bay by cooperating. Allying with another guild renders the members of the guilds unable to harm each other as if they were in the same guild. They will also be unable to attack or be attacked by the guardians of a castle an ally has, nor will they be able to attack the Emperium of a castle an ally has control over. During WoE time alliances may not be created or disbanded between guilds. It is impossible to leave a guild inside of a castle, and it is also impossible to expell someone from a guild while inside a castle.

To destroy an Emperium, enemy players must directly attack it. Emperiums are invulnerable against all forms of damage except direct physical attacks (passive skills like [[Double Attack]] will work on it, but active skills will not; long-range attacks from bows will also connect but these do suffer a -25% damage penalty during WoE). The Emperium is of the [[Angel]] race, [[Holy]] 1 element, and small sized.

=== Guardian NPCs ===
Guild Leader can hire the powerful guardian NPCs to patrol their guild's Castles if their guild has invested in the skill [[Guardian Research]]. During WoE they will attack all enemy guild members. While theycan be destroyed or weakened, they can also be fully repaired or re-hired. Players cannot attack guardian NPCs during non-WoE periods and cannot be attacked by them. To ressurect Guardians, Guild Leaders must talk to the butler NPC present in all Castles, usually on the second floor.

The guild skill [[Strengthen Guardians]] increases the attack power and attack speed of Guardians.

=== Rules of War of Emperium ===
There are specific rules in the War of Emperium. These are as follows:

*The flags outside each Castle display the emblem of the Guild currently in charge of them. castles in the castle map by looking at the flag right next to the entrance to each castle.
*As long as someone owns a castle, WoE mode does not stop until the set time is over.
*When WoE mode begins, all guild members who are not member of the guild that owns that castle will be force-teleported to their last saved spot.
*When a guild successfully destroys the Emperium, everybody else not part of that guild will be force-teleported to their last saved spot. At the same time, it'll be globally announced in the server that the guild has taken the castle.
*If your guild owns the castle, 'talking' to the flag bearing your guild's emblem will let you port into your castle.
*Once your guild owns the castle, you can take your guild members into the guild dungeons. There are lots of powerful monsters, and occasionally, bosses will appear as well. Do note that any guilds not in your alliance can also be in the same guild dungeon map, and CAN engage in PvP with your guild members. Dying here - whether by players or monsters - will cost you EXP.
*Allied guilds cannot attack Emperium in each other's castle, and during WoE, allied guild members cannot hurt each other.

===Rewards of Having a Castle===
==== Guild Dungeons ====

Each realm has its own private guild dungeon which can only be accessed by members of a guild currently holding a castle in that realm. Guild dungeons usually have somewhat more dangerous monsters than average dungeons, but also provide enhanced experience. Each guild dungeon has its own [[MVP]] monster and its own miniboss monster which usually have longer spawn times than those found outside. However, along with being filled with more dangerous monsters than usual, guild dungeons are '''all''' [[PvP]] enabled; thus all guilds which are not allied to a player's will be able attack and be attacked by members of that player's guild. It is strongly encouraged to excercise caution when venturing into a guild dungeon, as like all normal dungeons, [[experience]] is lost when a player dies.

==== Treasure Boxes ====
:''See: [[Castle Treasure Drops]]''
{{:Castle Treasure Drops}}

==== Butler NPC ====
{{expert}}
Each castle has a special [[NPC]] from which the guild master can make major decisions and maintain the
castle. The following are functions which this NPC can perform:

{| class="wikitable"
|-
| Invest in Commerce Development || Invest to increase the castle's economy. Every 5 points on investment adds one new treasure box to the castle's master room. The type of treasure box alternates between the two available at that castle.
|-
| Invest in Defense || Increase your castle's defense by investing in it. Each point of defense investment will improve the Guardian HP and Emperium HP by 1000, and also improve the defense and attack power of the guardians by an unknown amount.
|-
| Hire Guardians || Hire a guardian to ease the task of guarding your guild's castle.
|-
| Hire [[Kafra]] Employee || You can hire/fire Kafra NPCs inside the castle. Through the employed Kafra NPC, guild members can use the Kafra storage free of charge. The guild must have the [[Contract with Kafra]] skill in order to do this.
|-
| Enter Master Room || Enter the room where treasure boxes spawn.
|-
| Empty Castle || If the castle is in a critical situation, you can return everything to the original status. When this happens, the castle is no longer under any particular guild's control, and becomes filled with monsters.
|}

=== Modified WoE Mechanics ===
These changes only affect War of Emperium zones to make the large scale guild versus guild battles viable.

*There is no indicator of damage. Criticals are shown up as blank critical bubble, with no number inside it.
*All graphical effects appear simplified (/mineffect is automatically enabled).
*Each player's guild emblem is displayed over their head.
*Death in WoE does not cause [[EXP]] loss.
*All skill based damage with the exception of [[Gloria Domini]] and [[Gravitational Field]] is reduced by 40%.
*All long-range attacks are reduced by 25%. This does not stack with long-range skill attacks (these are just reduced by 40%).
*Upon entering a new room in a WoE map, the player is given 5 seconds of invulnerability. This invulnerable status is forfeited as soon as they use an item, cast a skill, or move.
*All [[Hunter]] traps last 4 times as long in WoE.
*You cannot 'lock on' to players using CTRL+Click.
*Any abilities that push back enemies do not push back enemies, including enemy guardian NPCs in the castle. (i.e. The push-back effect of [[Bowling Bash]].)
*Ability [[Steal]] cannot steal from the Castle treasure box.
*Phen Card's 'immune to spell interruption' property does not work. However, skills with a cast time that cannot be interrupted will not lose this ability (unless they are [[Spell Breaker|Spell Broken]]).
*The Emperium is invulnerable to skill-based damage with the exception of Gravitational Field and Gloria Domini.
*[[Ninja]]'s [[Cicada Skin Shed]] does not push the player (Ninja) back 7 cells.

=== Disabled skills ===
*[[Thief]]'s [[Back Slide]]
*[[Wizard]]'s [[Ice Wall]]

== Description ==
Empowered by rage, the player enters a condition that is equivalent to Level 10 [[Provoke]] status when their HP is reduced to less than 25% of [[Max HP]]. The Provoked status lasts until the player's HP is restored to more than 25% of Max HP or if the Provoke effect is canceled by certain skills or situations. It can be turned on and off.

== Notes ==
*The skill doesn't consume SP when cast, but cannot be cast with 0 SP.
*When HP is less than 25%, the player's HP bar turns red. This is an indication of when the Provoke status of Berserk will activate.

== Priest Change Guide ==
=== Sign up ===

Apply to become a Priest in the North-East building of Prontera (the Prontera Church) by speaking to Bishop Paul.
=== The Acolyte Quest all over again ===

* This part is skipped entirely for job level 50 [[Acolyte]]s.
* Acolytes job 40-49 can refer to the [[Acolyte]] page for instructions. It is highly suggested that [[Acolyte]]s are job 50 before becoming a Priest, however.

=== Exorcism ===

Bishop Paul grants access to a room where the next two tests will take place: Exorcism and Temptation. In this room, click Peter S. Alberto multiple times to activate his dialogue window. The excessive clicking required is actually part of the test, not a bug. A Priest can come along to help for these two tests by following the same instructions and bringing an unslotted Rosary in their inventory (not equipped).

In the next few rooms, [[Heal]] "bomb" all the Zombies that appear. All must be killed in each room to clear the Exorcism stage and move onto Temptation.

=== Temptation ===

Successfully walk past four NPCs (Deviruchi, Doppleganger, Dark Lord, and finally Baphomet) without accepting their deals to end the journey of becoming a Priest. Some may offer bribes or insist the Priest life is too difficult to be worthwhile, but choose options that reject their offers.

There is then another series of rooms where Zombies spawn, with some Mummies mixed in this time. It is not necessary to kill them all: simply run by.

=== Ethics ===

After exiting the last room with Mummies, prepare to be warped back to Bishop Paul. He suggests speaking with Sister Cecelia on the other side of the room. Employ common sense to answer her questions with holy and righteous responses to pass.

=== Job Change ===

Return to Bishop Paul to become a Priest after a bit of dialogue.

* Rewards:
** Acolytes job 41-49: Book [3]
** Acolytes job 50: Bible [2]

== Builds ==

The differences between Priest builds are generally between who and where they will support. Battle builds support themselves. WoE builds support in WoE. Full Support supports in PvM situations.
=== Battle Builds ===

* [[STR]]/[[AGI]]/[[DEX]]
* [[Crit]]
* [[AGI]]/[[DEX]]

=== Support ===

'''Full Support - PVM'''

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1
* [[AGI]]: 1 or more than 80...
* [[VIT]]: 80-95
* [[INT]]: 99
* [[DEX]]: 1-50
* [[LUK]]: 1-9

This is a build with lots of [[SP]], high [[Heal]] and vitality. Used with max level [[Kyrie Eleison]] and [[Angelus]], this build is fairly effective at tanking hits in PvM situations. Though, some argue that a staunch 99 INT/DEX build is not as practical for a priest as it is for a [[High Priest]] without the [[Assumptio]] skill. Some Full Support priests opt for a compromised build with less VIT and more DEX for better cast time and serviceability in WoE. Some prefer getting AGI to dodge; this was once extremely popular pre-Comodo with 99 INT/99 AGI builds.

'''WOE Support'''

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1-10
* [[AGI]]: 1 or same as above...
* [[VIT]]: 75-85
* [[INT]]: 90-99
* [[DEX]]: 50-60
* [[LUK]]: 1

Basically the same as a Full Support build, it’s mainly the skills that differentiate a WoE build from a [[FS]] build. VIT is slightly more compromised for DEX and there is even some STR thrown in there for better carrying capacity. The important skills for WoE support include all your typical support skills with more emphasis on [[Safety Wall]] and [[Sanctuary]]. A must-have WoE skill is [[B.S Sacramenti]], nevertheless some WoE priests forgo this skill in favor of higher level support skills.

=== Exorcists ===

'''[[Turn Undead]] Build'''

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1
* [[AGI]]: 1
* [[VIT]]: 50-60
* [[INT]]: 99
* [[DEX]]: 70-80
* [[LUK]]: 1-30

The [[Turn Undead|TU]] build is often treated as a hybrid build. Most TU priests double as Support due to the compatibility of stats and availability of support skill points. INT and LUK are the two stats that directly affect the success rate of insta-killing a target with TU, and a must-have skill is [[Gloria]]. There is debate about the practicality of having any LUK at all (success rate difference of 2-3%), especially if the priest is hybrid, in which case those extra points can be invested into either VIT or DEX.

=== [[Magnus Exorcismus]] Build ===

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1-10
* [[AGI]]: 1-9
* [[VIT]]: 1-36
* [[INT]]: ~90-99
* [[DEX]]: 90-99
* [[LUK]]: 1-9

The main concern of [[ME]] priests is their [[MATK]] (INT dependent) and cast time (DEX dependent). This is a solid soloing build often used with level 10 [[Safety Wall]] and [[Lex Aeterna]] to mass kill Undead and Demon monsters. ME priest can also effectively insta-killing undead by using their level 1 [[Resurrection]], which is ranged and has no cast delay. Due to their large repertoire of prerequisite skills, ME priests are reasonably efficient in PvP and WoE situations. With fast cast times, a ME priest makes for an effective [[Sanctuary]] and [[Safety Wall]] slave, and can shoot off a fast stream of high MATK [[Holy Light]] in self defense.

== Equipment ==

=== Full Support - PVM ===

Refer to [[Acolyte]] page for most equipment recommendations, the ones listed here are the few with higher level restrictions.
== Overview ==

== Priest Change Guide ==
=== Sign up ===

=== Exorcism ===

=== Temptation ===

=== Ethics ===

After exiting the last room with Mummies, prepare to be warped back to Bishop Paul. He suggests speaking with Sister Cecelia on the other side of the room. Employ common sense to answer her questions with holy and righteous responses to pass.

=== Job Change ===

Return to Bishop Paul to become a Priest after a bit of dialogue.

* Rewards:
** Acolytes job 41-49: Book [3]
** Acolytes job 50: Bible [2]

== Builds ==

The differences between Priest builds are generally between who and where they will support. Battle builds support themselves. WoE builds support in WoE. Full Support supports in PvM situations.
=== Battle Builds ===

* [[STR]]/[[AGI]]/[[DEX]]
* [[Crit]]
* [[AGI]]/[[DEX]]

=== Support ===

'''Full Support - PVM'''

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1
* [[AGI]]: 1 or more than 80...
* [[VIT]]: 80-95
* [[INT]]: 99
* [[DEX]]: 1-50
* [[LUK]]: 1-9

* [[STR]]: 1-10
* [[AGI]]: 1 or same as above...
* [[VIT]]: 75-85
* [[INT]]: 90-99
* [[DEX]]: 50-60
* [[LUK]]: 1

=== Exorcists ===

'''[[Turn Undead]] Build'''

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1
* [[AGI]]: 1
* [[VIT]]: 50-60
* [[INT]]: 99
* [[DEX]]: 70-80
* [[LUK]]: 1-30

=== [[Magnus Exorcismus]] Build ===

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1-10
* [[AGI]]: 1-9
* [[VIT]]: 1-36
* [[INT]]: ~90-99
* [[DEX]]: 90-99
* [[LUK]]: 1-9

== Equipment ==

Rhythm and balance are qualities cultivated by all [[Archer]]s, however, only the truly talented are allowed to learn the secret steps of the Dancers. These scantily clad seductresses gain the power to influence the minds of allies and enemies alike.

It is said that time [[Slow_Grace|slows down]] when a Dancer starts to move her hips to the sound of some mysterious tune; that those watching may [[Charming_Wink|lose control]] of their bodies and find their magic reserves either [[Gypsy's_Kiss|greatly improved]] or [[Hip_Shaker|gone altogether]]. Where their male counterparts, the [[Bard]]s, are more bent on support, Dancers specialize at disruptive maneuvers, which make them an invaluable asset in the War of Emperium.

Supporting with a Bard or Dancer requires a different approach than other classes. Music-based buffs are mostly percentual values, as opposed to the absolute values of [[Priest]] buffs, and require careful strategy and positioning, but playing as an [[Archer]] should already provide some experience in this respect. Despite their supportive role, one should not forget that Dancers are also capable of dealing good quantities of damage, one of their main advantages over [[Hunter|Huntresses]] is their immense SP pool which allows them to continually use [[Double Strafe]] instead of normal attacks, ensuring decent damage output.

== General Information ==

To understand how to build a [[Bard]] or Dancer, knowledge of all their skills is needed. Dancer and [[Bard]] skills are, in comparison to other classes, very stat dependent. In general, there are 2 types of skills for both a Dancer and a [[Bard]]; skills which can be sung or danced without a partner of the opposite gender and those where the player needs another [[Bard]] or Dancer respectively.

As a Dancer only whips, daggers and bows are available for weapons, whereas Bards can use instruments instead of whips.

* When armed with a [[Whips|Whip]]:
** Bow skills ([[Double Strafe]], [[Arrow Shower]], [[Arrow Repel]]) cannot be used
** [[Performance Skills]], as well as [[Amp]] and [[Encore]] are available
** Whip skills ([[Slinging Arrow]], [[Arrow Vulcan]]) can be used
** Whip damage depends on the Dancer's [[dex]], NOT [[str]]. Just like it does for [[bow|bows]]
[[Unbarring Octave]], [[Dazzler]], [[Pang Voice]] and [[Charming Wink]] are usable regardless of weapons.

== How to become a Dancer ==
=== Sign up ===

Whenever the player considers herself ready to become a Dancer, she should head to [[Comodo]]. Near the Kafra employee, there will be a male NPC named Bor Robin who will grant entrance into the Dancer Quest area. Upon heading inside, talk to the NPC named Aile to the left side of the stage. She will ask the player to fulfill one of the following requirements along with the minimum requirement of Job 40 or more on a female [[Archer]].

# 1 Sandals (unslotted NPC), 10 Black Hair, 20 Jellopy, 5 Yellow Potion, 2 Clam Shell
# 1 Shoes (unslotted NPC), 20 Sticky Mucus, 3 Jellopy, 5 Red Potion
# 1 Boots (unslotted NPC), 5 Earthworm Peeling, 10,000 zeny

* Note that the NPC will not actually take these items, nor will they ever be used up.

Once finished signing up, it's time to head to the right side of the stage and talk to the NPC named Bijou to take the quiz.

=== Quiz ===

The quiz involves a simple Q and A session. Getting 80% correct is required to pass this part of the exam. For reference, the following are the questions that are asked for this section of the exam. (The wording however, may differ)
# Which of the following is not a pet? [Argiope]
# Who is the best dancer? [Bijou]
# The Kafra service in Comodo is provided by which branch? [Kafra service western branch]
# What is my name? [Bijou]
# Who dances the most beautifully? [Bijou]
# Which of the following jobs can a dancer combo with? [Bard]
# Which of the following is not a specialty of Comodo? [Shining stones]
# Who is the manager of the Commodo casino? [Moo]
# Who is the person in charge of the dancing school applications? [Aier]

=== Dance Dance Revolution ===

After answering the questions correctly, Bijou will send the player to Dance on the stage. At this point one should make sure to equip a Bow and some arrows and then head behind the stage to meet another NPC with a "Waiting Room" chat window above her head. Entering the chatroom will put the player on queue for the trial. The exam is a simple test of movement and quick responses. Hotkeying [[Arrow Shower]] or [[Double Strafe]] and [[Improve Concentration]] is suggested. Note: there's a poring at the end that has to be killed with a bow and arrows. Using [[Improve Concentration]] is optional; however, the NPC will ask for it.

The Dancing pattern is as follows.

# Back
# Front
# Left
# Right
# Center
# Pose (just remain on the tile)
# [[Improve Concentration]]
# Left
# Front
# Right
# Pose (just remain on the tile)
# Left, Center, Right, Back
# Right
# Left, Center, Front, Back
# Left, Center, Front, Back
# Front
# Left
# Center
# [[Arrow Shower]] or [[Double Strafe]]

For those future dancers who are having problems with this part of the test: An effective way to pass this exam is to only perform the first and last steps for sequences with more than two steps, rather than hitting all the tiles. For example: instead of doing "Left Center Right Back" one simply goes from Left to Back.
=== Job Change ===

Returning to the NPC who did the verbal testing for the job chance to Dancer. Either a 3 slotted Line for Job 50, or a 3 slotted Rope for any job change lower than that are awarded as a gift for changing class.
== Equipments Used ==
This is no where a complete list of equipment that is required or suggested. This list is not based around any mini boss or MvP drops.

=== Upper Headgear ===

Besides the "kawaii" headgear you have taking up almost all of your storage, these are some of the basics that are suggested to have for a Dancer.

* Ramen Hat (+4 Dex) (Kafra Shop item) - Suggested for PvM but not WoE/PvP.
* Apple of Archer (+3 Dex) - Suggested for PvM but not WoE/PvP.
* Wise Headgear [1] (+80 SP) (Willow Card) - More SP to use skills and increase overall SP regeneration.
* Erudite Headgear [1] (+2 Int) - More Int to increase effect of [[Gypsy's Kiss]].
* Peerless Headgear [1] (Immune to [[Silence]]) - Who would have thought people would try to silence you because they don't like you screaming ([[Dazzler]] on iRO is called Scream on kRO)? This is a great item to have but you sacrifice more dex or damage reduction from demi-humans for immunity to silence.
* Poo Poo Hat (10% decrease from demi-human attacks) - Use for WoE.
* Feather Beret (+1 MDEF and 10% decrease from demi-human attacks) - Use for WoE/PvP.
* Beret (10% decrease from demi-human attacks) - Use for WoE/PvP.

=== Middle Headgear ===

Some of these headgear take up both the middle and lower slots.

* Opera Masque (+1 Def) - If you're not using a Binocular, you might as well use some DEF to decrease the physical damage you recieve.
* Binoculars (+1 Dex) - A headgear that can be used to replace tights if applicable.
* Masquerade (3% more damage against demi-humans)
* Evolved Ribbons (+5 Flee) - Extra flee to help Agi/Dex Dancers flee monsters.
* Alarm Mask (+2 Def) - If you're not using a Binocular, you might as well use some DEF to decrease the physical damage you recieve.
* Erudite Sunglasses [1] (+2 Int) - More Int to increase effect of [[Gypsy's Kiss]].
* Wise Sunglasses [1] (+80 SP) - More SP to use skills and increase overall SP regeneration.
* Red Glasses (+5 MDEF) - Great to use to add to your MDEF if you're about to rush a precast in WoE.

=== Lower Headgear ===

*Evolved Pipe (+1 Vit and reduces damage from Brute class monsters by 5%) - More vit to try and gain [[stun]] and [[silence]] immunity and less damage from Brute class monsters when leveling.
*Gangster Mask (15% resistance to Silence) - Helpful if you're not immune to silence using a Marduk Card or having 100 total vit.

=== Armor ===

Tights are suggested because of their +1 Dex but can be replaced with other armors that Dancers can wear if needed.

* Hard Tights [1] (+1 Dex) (Pupa Card) - Ideal for the Agi/Dex Dancers who need an extra boost of 700 HP to survive longer.
* Tights of Ares [1] (+1 Dex) (Peco Peco Card) - Choose this if your base HP is greater than or equal to 7000 HP (giving you 700 HP or more). Great for PvP/PvE if you're not wearing an Unfrozen.
* Unfrozen Tights [1] (+1 Dex) (Marc Card) (Immunity against [[Frozen]] status)
* Solidifying Tights [1] (+1 Dex and chance to cast Stone Curse on enemy when user is physically attacked) - An effort to immobilize whoever is hitting you so that you can get some range and start your attack or run away and wait for a better moment to strike.

There are other specific armors out there that are beneficial (or sometimes not beneficial depending on the situation) such as those that change the element of the player (Swordfish Card, Dokebi Card, Pasana Card, etc) and those that cause status effects to your enemies under certain conditions (Demon Fungus Card, Brilight Card, etc.)

=== Garment ===

Mufflers are suggested because they are easily obtainable. They can be replaced with Wool Scarfs (+4 MDEF) or Heavenly Maiden's Robe (+1 more DEF than Mufflers).

* Bow-Master's Garment (Dragon Tail Card) (5% increase damage to Double Strafe and Arrow Shower) - Also apart of the archer and Gypsy/Minstrel set, this is great for the times when you are Double Strafing or Arrow Showering whether in WoE, PvP, or PvE.
* Anti-Sniping Garment (Noxious Card) (10% resistance against long ranged attacks and neutral property attacks) - Great for WoE. However, as a Dancer, it is up to you to decide when and where to use an Anti-Sniping Muffler or an Immune Muffler.
* Immune Garment (Raydric Card) (20% resistance against neutral property attacks) - If you're not wearing any of the two above, it is suggested that you be wearing this garment.

There are other specific garments out there that are beneficial such as those that give resistance to certain elements (Jakk Card, Marse Card, etc).

=== Footgear ===

Boots are suggested because they're the footgear with the highest defense that Dancers can wear.

* +9 Superior Footgear [1] (Firelock Soldier Card) (+2 Str and, if upgraded to +9, 10% more HP and SP) - More HP to live longer and more SP to use skills and increase overall SP regeneration.
* Green Footgear [1] (Martyr Card) (+1 Agi and 10% more HP) - More HP to live longer and +1 Agi for Agi/Dex Dancers.
* Soul-Enchanted Footgear [1] (Sohee Card) (15% more SP and increase SP recovery by 3%) - More SP to use skills and increase overall SP regeneration.

The above three footgear can be substituted for other footgear such as those that gives the player more experience for killing a certain race of monsters (Am Mut Card, Mini Demon Card, etc.)

=== Accessory ===

* Nimble Glove [1] (+4 Dex) (90+ base level) or Nimble Clip [1] (+3 Dex) (no level restriction) (both are Zerom Cards) - Suggested to gain more dex for leveling or even for PvP/WoE.
* Earring (+2 Int) - More Int to increase effect of [[Gypsy's Kiss]].
* Rosary of Four Leaf Clover - (+3 MDEF, +1 Luk) (5% less damage from long ranged physical attacks) (Alligator Card) - Ideal for WoE/PvP because of the MDEF and the decrease from long ranged physical attacks.

=== Shield ===

Unlike [[Hunter|Hunters]], Dancers can wear bucklers with one-handed weapons.

*Cranial Buckler [1] (Thara Frog Card) - Suggested for PvP/WoE and sometimes PvE depending on the monsters on the map.

There are other specific shields that can be beneficial to a Dancer as well (Penomena Card, Flame Skull Card, Teddy Bear Card, etc.)

=== Weapon ===

Dancers are allowed to use shields with whips. However they are not allowed to used shields with bows as bows take up both the right and left hand slots.

*Double Bloody Double Boned Rope [4] (2x Hydra Card, 2x Skeleton Worker Card) - Can be used for leveling at Bathories or even used to attack players in PvP/WoE.
*Solid Triple Vital Rope [4] (Golem Card, 3x Fabre Card) - Suggested for a Dancer dancing [[Classical Pluck]] with a [[Bard]] in order to avoid from letting players break your whip and to increase your vit and your HP by 300.
*Double Bloody Double Composite Bow [4] (2x Hydra Card, 2x Skeleton Worker Card) - Can be used for leveling at Bathories for Agi/Dex Dancers or even used to attack players in PvP/WoE by WoE or Agi/Dex Dancers.
*Quadruple [[Status Effects|Status Effect]] Composite Bow [4] (any status effect card; Marina Card, Savage Bebe Card, Plankton Card, Magnolia Card, etc.) - If you think or know you can't take down a player or more by yourself, you can try to slow them down, or even immobilizing them, using status bows. On top of that, you could use status arrows but some are harder to obtain than others.

=== Arrows ===

*PvE: Be prepared for any element that may be present on the map you choose to farm/MvP/level on.

*PvP/WoE: Obtaining status arrows depends on how much zeny you have, how much zeny you are willing to spend if it comes to that point, what items you have access to, and what you plan to do in PvP/WoE.

:*[[Stun]] and [[Silence]] (known in-game as Mute Arrows) Arrows/Bows work well against Casters such as the [[Wizard]] Class and the [[Sage]] Class (excluding full support build Sages/Scholars) as they do enough vit to become immune (unless they're wearing a Peerless (Marduk Card) Headgear which makes them immune to silence or they could use items to remove this effect on themselves).

:*[[Curse]]d Arrows/bows work well against players on Peco Pecos such as the Swordsman Class. These arrows and bows help decrease the walking speed of the Swordsman Class so that you have time to run away and hide, strike again later, or keep them at a distance.

:*[[Sleep]] Arrows/bows work well against low Int and low Luk type characters. These are ideal against full support [[Scholar]]s, Agi/Dex [[Sniper]]s, and [[Enchant Deadly Poison]] [[Sonic Blow]] [[Assassin Cross]]es.

:*[[Frozen]] Arrows/bows may work better using Arrow Shower and Arrow Showering a group of players closely packed but, most of the time, players are wearing Unfrozen armor in WoE and PvP.

== Common Skill/Stat Builds ==
=== PvM Builds ===
* STR: 1
* AGI: 80-99
* VIT: 1
* INT: 9-53
* DEX: 99
* LUK: 1

[[PvM]] builds of a Dancer echo the [[DEX]]/[[AGI]] [[Hunter]] build. However, decreasing Agi in order to increase [[INT]] will allow you to [[Double Strafe]] more often as well as regenerate SP faster than a Hunter with the same stat build.

=== WOE Builds ===

[[WoE]] Builds use 99 [[DEX]] and the only other 2 stats that are needed are [[INT]] and [[VIT]]. [[INT]] allows the skill [[Dazzler]] to be used more due to increased total [[SP]] of the dancer, while [[VIT]] gives more [[HP]] allowing the dancer to survive longer as well as less chance to get stunned. Both are needed, and should be planned according to a specific skill build selected.

Rav: /* Semantics */

== Semantics ==

Saying Profs are battle if they can melee denies the fact that Bolters can battle by casting. Thus, Soldier is a better term.

Brent

:In the world of Ragnarok Online, "Battle" is not an ambiguous connotation as you are making it out to be. Battle refers to a class that primarily melees a monster, or building part of the character towards this objective when it is regarded as potentially counter-productive/PVM oriented. Bolters suited for int/dex with little defense stats would not want to stand there attacking a monster. There are hybrids of characters that can be mentioned; I do not think Soldier is a good term to use because the majority of the RO population is unfamiliar with it.
::--[[User:Rav|Rav]] 20:11, 27 July 2008 (MDT)

The majority of the RO population is unfamiliar with it because the term "Soldier" is a radical terminology intended to sever the illogical association between "battle" and "melee". It is true that "Battle" in RO refers to a close combat class that deviates from its default design as intended by utility and so-called efficiency. For example, the Priest that chooses to go hand-to-hand against monsters, and the Professor who chooses to bring his fights to close quarters rather than following the norm and staying afar. Despite this, it is an association that defiles the true meaning of the word "battle" when applied to the Professor class, or even the rare Wizards who choose the path of the hand-to-hand fighter for that matter.

Professors and Wizards are capable of engaging in long-range and short-range battles, compared to most classes where their forte lies in either one or the other. Wizards who choose to follow the path of close combat is counterproductive. Focusing on this aspect of combat undermines who they are. However, professors who choose to follow the path of close combat does not necessarily undermine their very essence. These Profs can still support others, albeit not as good as the common Bolters or Supporters due to their skill spread. They can also engage in ranged combat, though not as well as the Bolter due to a slower casting time (lest they are rich enough to acquire the equipment necessary to zero all casting times). In spite of this, they are also effective in close combat, and actually shine in it. You're looking at a character that can fight from a distance, that is not afraid to let the enemy approach him, and that is STILL capable of support roles. A real-life soldier easily fits these three roles perfectly. Hence, the terminology. So, why not "battle"?

1. Walking down the path of close combat is only counterproductive in PvP in the early stages. The latter stages of this Prof's life involve not leveling, but item hunting.

2. Calling these professors "hybrid types" is actually LACKING because they encompass all three archetypal builds of the professor and yet STILL excel at something the other two can't excel in: close combat! And you should know that the term "hybrid" is also a term associated with "jack of all trades; master of none". But you have a build that excels in something.

3. Bolters have a "plateau" level of power. The "counterproductive" professors have vast potential. Whether the bolter or the so-called "counterproductive" professor is better than the other battle can only be determined through a thorough investigation... in terms of killing their targets.

4. While the majority of the RO population are unfamiliar with the term as of yet, the term "Soldier" is also intended to instigate a logical revolution, in that it will actually remind players the absurdity of applying the condescending term "Battle" to a job class that has long-term benefits for players. It is also for this reason that the term "Soldier" also emerged; the label "Battle" has negative connotations and people often look down on these "counterproductive" professors, refusing to acknowledge the vast potential they hold within, potential already being cultivated by new equipment and even a technique available ONLY to these "counterproductive" professors that can grant enormous leverage in the tide of battle if used prudently.

The condescending term "Battle" would have been appropriate for the close combat professors during their state as a Sage. It would have been appropriate had Double Bolt been programmed to register only precast bolt spells, had equipment like the Ring of Flame Lord, Kettle Hat, Decadent Strategy, and the Ledger of Death never been released, or had the effects of the Spirit of the Sage benefited Bolters!

It would also have been appropriate if they couldn't use Books and that books weren't unbreakable! It would've been appropriate if their skills did not nurture the path of close combat, like Wizards. In fact, the very label that is "Battle" would have been QUITE apposite had Gravity chosen to set the "counterproductive" build as a PvM-only one, similar to the Battle Priests in that they can only kill monsters given what they have, with little, if not minimal, supporting capacity. But no! The Profs so looked-down-upon were given the capacity to kill, to own! They were raised above a stagnant life of counterproductivity and defiance of the norm! Gravity even wants players of these "counterproductive" Professors to dedicate themselves to it, because their fully realized power only comes through sheer dedication, persistence, and luck... or just a hell lot of money/connections.

If the term "Battle" is still condescending in that characters slapped with this label are considered "potentially counterproductive", then why is Gravity giving these "novelty" professors opportunities to rise above that connotation? The term "Soldier", radical as it is, RESPECTS this potential, this versatility in ranged and close combat, and in support.

The only reason why a more apt term for the so-called "Battle Profs" has not surfaced until the philosophy for the radical label that is the "Soldier Prof" was because people would not understand, their minds closed to the possibility of something that defies the norms of spellcasters being something that can actually kill. SymbioticGenius has a particularly strong "Soldier Prof" that he knows he can own people with. But perhaps the reason why he forced himself to conform with the rest was not just because the people would find it radical, but also because the people were unaware of the immense potentials held by the close combat Professor. Now that Gravity is beginning to give players opportunities to raise these supposedly PvM-only builds past that very barrier, the terminology SHOULD be replaced by something that respects not only the damage potential of the close combat professor, but also the intense dedication and persistence its player has exerted to mold that very professor to the most powerful state it can achieve.

Soldiers are fully experienced in battle, capable of killing people from a range, or from close quarters. Soldiers can provide support when needed, the support not just limited to cover fire. Soldiers are dedicated to their mission. Soldiers are persistent to meet their objectives. The term "soldier" respects both the player and the way he has decided to play his character. That... is the Soldier Professor.

Of course, this doesn't mean that one needs to impose the term on another. People who refuse to acknowledge the term "Soldier" can still do so, perhaps out of conformity's sake. These people should just refer to these Professors as "Melee Professors", since the Soldiers excel in close combat. If not, well, maybe it goes to show that they just want to stick to the term "BATTLE" and are content with living with the rest of the RO population looking down on them because they're "battle types that aren't effective at all in PvP" and associating them with a waste of time and money. Looking at it that way, it's kind of pathetic that a majority still view Soldiers as weak, which can be both a good and a bad thing. After all, being overwhelmed by a "weak, pathetic, PvM-only, Battle Professor" can be a surprising thing.

::Wow, I am not even reading that block of text because I am pretty sure anyone would understand what I am referring to. I scanned your post briefly and all I saw was "WE'RE NOT COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE!!!!1111111" or something.
I dont think changing the INT on the VIT/DEX build from 1~40 to 50~105 makes any sense at all. That is not a minor adjustment of stats, it is a rather drastic change. Also, i'm pretty sure stone curse wont miss just because of int/matk thats too low. --[[User:Biochemistness-76|Biochemistness-76]] 08:29, 29 July 2008 (MDT)

=== Sign up ===

=== Exorcism ===

=== Temptation ===

=== Ethics ===

After exiting the last room with Mummies, prepare to be warped back to Bishop Paul. He suggests speaking with Sister Cecelia on the other side of the room. Employ common sense to answer her questions with holy and righteous responses to pass.

== Common Skill/Stat Builds ==

The differences between priest builds are generally between who and where they will support. Battle builds support themselves. WOE builds support in WOE. Full Support supports in PvM situations
=== Battle Builds ===

* [[STR]]/[[AGI]]/[[DEX]]
* [[Crit]]
* [[AGI]]/[[DEX]]

=== Support ===

'''Full Support - PVM'''

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1
* [[AGI]]: 1 or more than 70...
* [[VIT]]: 80-99
* [[INT]]: 99
* [[DEX]]: 1-50
* [[LUK]]: 1-9

This is a build with lots of [[SP]], high heal, and the vitality of an ox. More often than not, Full Support priests opt for a compromised build with less VIT and more DEX for better cast time and serviceability in WoE. Some prefer getting AGI to become the ultimate tank that can dodge and has infinite HP and SP.

'''WOE Support'''

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1-10
* [[AGI]]: 1 or same as above...
* [[VIT]]: 75-85
* [[INT]]: 90-99
* [[DEX]]: 50-60
* [[LUK]]: 1

=== Exorcists ===

'''[[Turn Undead]] Build'''

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1
* [[AGI]]: 1
* [[VIT]]: 50-60
* [[INT]]: 99
* [[DEX]]: 70-80
* [[LUK]]: 1-30

=== [[Magnus Exorcismus]] Build ===

Base Stats at Level 99:

* [[STR]]: 1-10
* [[AGI]]: 1
* [[VIT]]: 9-36
* [[INT]]: ~90-99
* [[DEX]]: 90-99
* [[LUK]]: 1

== PvM PvP WOE Application ==
== Tips and Tricks ==

It is often useful for a priest to buff themselves before buffing their party. In doing so, the priest's buff is the first to wear off, and will instantly be alert that the party members will also wear off soon. This is especially useful for new priests who may forget to buff party members. There are exceptions, however such as when one is low on SP.

In PVP, it may be useful to use level 1 Kyrie Eleison to help cancel the effects of Assumptio on your opponents, as Assumptio cannot coexist with Kyrie Eleison.

Priests should remember that [[Lex Aeterna]] loses its rather long after-cast delay if used under the effect of [[Magic Strings]], to the point when it can be constantly casted. This is a great way to double the damage output of parties.
== Notes ==
*Can be performed from [[Hide]].
*Never misses target, unless the target is under Cicada Skin Shed/Illusionary Shadow (Ninja) or Kaupe (Soul Linker).
*Can be used with bows, but damage will be halved.
*Can not be used if the foe turns its backside away from the caster.
*There is a glitch where if performed from below the foe, coming out of Hide - although being hard to achieve - it can be used repetitively and without delay until the target moves.

== Skill Development ==
Back Stab, once one of the strongest skills, has been reduced in usefulness considerably due to a position/sprite bug in maps, in which the game couldn't identify the "back" of a target. Originally it could be performed repetitively without much of a delay when standing behind an opponent's back, which was conform to the direction they've last moved into, not the direction their characters were actually facing.
The first skill fix, the skill was made more accurate, which meant the caster had to use it from the foe's actual backside, which could be avoided by turning with shift+click or /bingbing or /bangbang.
The second fix later, a 1 second fixed delay was added to the skill, instead of basing it on ASPD.
Finally, it's been made so that the foe turns their backside after each strike and removed the delay, which made performing the skill in PvM a hassle, and using it repeatedly in PvP on other players nearly impossible for those who don't know how to do it. Also, Back Stab would do half the amount of damage it normally does to when used with a Bow class weapon.

*Players below level 60 who have 40 Babayaga's Pestles will not be able to continue the quest, but Babayaga will take the 40 Babayaga's Pestless
*Players over level 60 with 40 Babayaga's pestles can proceed with the quest at NPC Babayaga

1. Talk to Babayaga at mosk_in [215, 46] and listen to her story. She speaks of being able to deny winter from coming again with her magic book on the second visit.

2. There are two options to choose from. In either option, the player will need to gather: 20 Grasshopper's Leg, 5 Spawn, 20 Wing of Red Bat, 10 Sticky Mucus, 10 Witch Starsand, 10 Fine Grit, 1 Detonator, 5 Red Blood, 10 Burning Heart, 1 1carat Diamond
:*Option one: "Are you sure?"
:*Option two: "A glue? You want me to kill you?!"

3. Bring the materials back to Babayaga, and she'll ask for the Magic Gourd Bottle in the dragon's lair.

4. The Gourd Bottle is near the pile of skeletons at mosk_dun03 [225, 233].
:*Note: Player will have to keep clicking until the Magic Courd Bottle is obtained.

5. Bring the Magic Courd Bottle to Babayaga. She'll need the player to "put people's words in it".

6. Proceed to Moscovia and collect the kids' words, young peoples' words, middle aged man's words and woman's words in that bottle.
:*Note: Player will have to look for the villagers in Moscovia to collect their words.

7. While on the way of returning to Babayaga, the player is intervened by the guards at the entrance (mosk_dun02 [53, 217]), as their weird behaviour has raised suspicions for Czar.

8. Player will have to bring 40 Babayaga's Pestle to Czar to clean up doubts. If the player already has 40 Babayaga's Pestles, they will be removed now. If they don't have them, they can be given to Czar later.

9. Return to Babayaga (mosk_in [215, 46]) and then read the book beside her (mosk_in [217, 45]).

10. At the pot (mosk_in [221, 43]), make Babayaga's Secret Medicine from the following recipe:
*#20 Wing of Red Bat, 5 Spawn, 20 Grasshopper's Leg
*#Pour water into the pot
*#Stir 20 times
*#10 Witch Starsand, 10 Fine Grit
*#Stir 15 times
*#Finally, add 5 Red Blood, 1 Detonator, 10 Burning heart, 1 1carat Diamond
*#Choose "it's over"

11. After obtaining Babayaga's Secret Medicine, put 'medicine of season' into the Magic Courd bottle then drop it in the middle of the square (moscovia [224, 190]) to break it.

12. Return to Czar(mosk_in [131, 92]). The quest is now completed.
Note:
*Players below level 60 or who don't have 40 Babayaga's Pestles will be rejected by NPC Babayaga

In either option, the player will need to gather: 20 Grasshopper's Legs, 5 Spawns, 20 Wings of Red Bat, 10 Sticky Mucus, 10 Starsand Of Witch, 10 Fine Grit, 1 Detonator
:*Option one: "Are you sure?" Requires the additional items: 5 Boody Red, 10 Burning heart, 1 One Carat Diamond
:*Option two: "A glue? You want me to kill you?!" Additional items: none

10. At the pot (mosk_in [221, 43]), put Wings of Red Bat, Spawn Liquid and Grasshopper's Leg, and then pour water into it. Stir 20 times. After that, add Starsand of Witch, Fine Grit. Stir 15 times. Finally, put Bloody Red first and Detonator, Burning heart, Diamond one, and choose "it's over".

11. After obtaining Babayaga's Secret Medicine, put 'medicine of season' into the Magic Courd bottle then drop it in the middle of the square (moscovia [224, 190]) to break it.

12. Return to Czar(mosk_in [131, 92]). The quest is now completed.
== Description ==
Protects a Party Member by taking all of the damage inflicted on said Party Member. The Party Member must be within 10 levels of the caster. The damage that the caster receives from Sacrifice is affected by the Party Member`s [[DEF|Defense]], rather than the caster's. However, if the caster activates [[Guard]], [[Shield Reflect]], or [[Defending Aura]], these skills will also affect Party Members targeted by Sacrifice and will generally function as if the Sacrificed party members had them as well.

== Information ==
*If a player goes beyond the range of Sacrifice, their line of Sacrifice will graphically disappear. Sacrifice does not deactivate until a player takes damage when out of range of the skill, or the duration of the skill expires.
*Cannot be cast on other [[Crusader]]s.
*When a player is Sacrificed, none of their skills can be interrupted by physical or magical attacks as they are not actually receiving any damage.
*If the Crusader receives damage that exceeds their remaining HP through Sacrifice, they will die, and any damage exceeding the Crusader's hit points does not pass to the original target receiving the damage.
*Certain abilities function through Sacrifice: Guard, Shield Reflect, and Defending Aura. Guard works as if the sacrificed target had the skill active, also inducing physical attack delay when activated. Shield Reflect only works on melee skills when applied through Sacrifice. This includes Guillotine Fist, as well as Arrow Shower cast by a monster. Defending Aura currently will slow all sacrificed targets when activated, but only apply a reduced damage reduction compared to the 80% reduction on the caster.
*Sacrifice will prevent the [[Soul Linker]] skill Kaite from functioning since damage is redirected toward the Sacrificing character.
*Refreshing Sacrifice (recasting it on a sacrificed target before its duration ends) requires that the number of players currently being sacrificed is at least 1 less than your limit.

==About Plural Links==
Okay, I'm noticing a LOT of people doing this. When making a page link PLURAL, as in <nowiki>[[High Priest]]s</nowiki> do NOT put the "S" INSIDE the <nowiki>[[Link]], like [[High Priest</nowiki>'''s''']] this. Instead, add the "S" to the OUTSIDE of the link, like <nowiki>[[High Priest]]</nowiki>'''s''' this. It's creating a lot of "wanted pages" and it's really time consuming to go through all of them and fix em. Thanks. --[[User:Resplendent|Resplendent]] 22:51, 17 September 2007 (MDT)

:Another thing that is putting a very large number of pages on [[Special:WantedPages]] is articles are being copied and pasted, and when people see a link to ''Berserk Potions'' (or any item), and they simply change it to ''<nowiki>[[Berserk Potions]]</nowiki>''. Double check links before doing this, many of them are originally [[Template:Item]] and actually are supposed to link to [http://rode.doddlercon.com/ R.O.D.E.]. If people dont want to look up ID numbers, thats perfectly fine, leave it as ''Berserk Potions'', likely someone else will eventually change it --[[User:Biochemistness-76|Biochemistness-76]] 00:10, 18 September 2007 (MDT)

== Gif's vs Png's ==

At this point, we already have almost all the skill icons and a large number of item icons uploaded in .png format. There was some brief [[Talk:Posting_Rules|discussion]] on this topic, but the only contributions were regarding jpg vs png since screenshots are originally jpeg. If peoeple desire to use a different format across the wiki, there should probably be some further discussion on the topic rather than people just blindly changing templates back and forth.

(also, [[Template:Skill]] and [[Template:Skill List]] are serving the same function, one should be decided on and the other should be disposed of.)

--[[User:Biochemistness-76|Biochemistness-76]] 18:22, 18 September 2007 (MDT)
:There was some discussion about this on IRC a few minutes ago. I can post the log if interested, but consensus seemed to be that PNG was here to stay, at least for the things that used to be GIFs. [[User:Hadas|Hadas]] 18:32, 18 September 2007 (MDT)

:[[Template:Skill]] seems to be the more frequently used template; [[Template:Skill List]] is probably only used because it appears in the Templates Category, while [[Template:Skill]] doesn't (should be fixed if it's the one kept) --[[User:Reiko|Reiko]] 04:00, 24 September 2007 (MDT)

[[Template:Skill List|Skill List]] was the one used on RI iirc. --[[User:Deviattor|Deviattor]] 10:08, 24 September 2007 (MDT)

== Policy Development ==
I would like to see some actual coherent, consensus-supported policies come into existence here.

A potential skeleton for these could be:
*Editing Policy
**[[iRO Wiki:Civility]] - Policies regarding dealing with other editors, such as assuming good faith, civility, etc.
**[[iRO Wiki:Deletion]] - Policy regarding deletion of articles and other media on the wiki.
**[[iRO Wiki:Protection]] - Policy regarding the protection and semi-protection of articles.
**[[iRO Wiki:Moderator]] - Policy regarding the provision and revocation of sysop status as well as sysop-specific policies (e.g. policies regarding wheel warring)
**[[iRO Wiki:Vandalism]] - Coherent policy against vandalism (with a definition of what vandalism is)
*Content Policy
**[[iRO Wiki:Verifiability]] - Policy that verifiable information is preferable to non-verifiable information.
**[[iRO Wiki:Use iRO]] - Policy that information from private servers is strictly prohibited and information from legal servers other than iRO (e.g. kRO) is less important (and less useful) than information from iRO.
*Style Policy
**[[iRO Wiki:Manual of Style]] - Create a coherent theme that should be shared by all wiki articles. Should include a section on naming conventions as well.

[[User:Hadas|Hadas]] 05:44, 19 September 2007 (MDT)
:Deletion policy proposal has been made. [[User:Hadas|Hadas]] 21:39, 10 October 2007 (MDT)

:These are all currently in the main namespace, were they intended to be in the project namespace? I can see some value to having them (at this point) out of the project namespace, as that will allow people without sysop to edit/contribute to them. Though ultimately they should be in the project namespace.
:Shouldn't we also have something along the lines of a Policy policy, so that we can lay out the formal approach to proposing, adjusting, and ratifying new policy
:--[[User:Biochemistness-76|Biochemistness-76]] 14:53, 15 October 2007 (MDT)
== Maintenance Script ==

The maintenance script apparently did not preserve any of the page information associated with any of the images. So it seems all the images are without categories, and any images that may have previously had descriptions no longer do. Can this be solved by some simple tweaking of the script, or will categories & descriptions need to be manually added every time the script runs? --[[User:Biochemistness-76|Biochemistness-76]] 15:11, 26 September 2007 (MDT)
:The maintenance script was a one time deal. We totally reinstalled the wiki and transferred everything over via importing and that script. It won't happen again, but I think we'll probably have to manually redo everything that is missing, sorry. Beats having a broken wiki though! --[[User:Resplendent|Resplendent]] 16:11, 26 September 2007 (MDT)

== Kafra Shop and VAS Pages ==
It'd be nice if there was page describing, in general, how the KS functions, its benefits, and payment methods for iRO in particular. Since this isn't a wiki for any other version, I wouldn't worry about how others do it, especially since it would probably only confuse people. We might also want to do pages for the Value Added Services, since there's soon to be a Stat Reset along with the original two. --[[User:Resplendent|Resplendent]] 00:00, 8 November 2007 (MST)
== Project Ideas ==
*Organize Weapon pages, they need it...
*Forging materials for weapons put on forge page in organized table.
*Job Change guides for all classes. These are in need of organizing as well, they're all over the place. Some are integrated into the class's article and others are separate. Need to decide how to do them.
:I'm thinking for this maybe have a [[First Classes Job Change Guides]] page with all 6, then a different guide for each 2nd class, and an [[Expanded Classes Job Change Guides]] page for Super Novice, Gunslinger and Ninja.
* Lots of missing [[:Category:Skill Images|skill desc images]] (for active skills which should have one)
*Episode 11.3 related content - [[War of Emperium 2]], [[Mercenary System]], [[God Items Quest 2]].
== Description ==

Creates a bottle containing Deadly Poison. If the skill fails, the caster will receive an amount of damage equal to 20% of maximum [[HP]].

{{item |id=678 Poison Bottles}} can only be created through the skill Create Deadly Poison. Some ingredients are needed to create one. [[DEX]] and [[LUK]] affect the success rates of brewing {{item |id=678 Poison Bottles}}.

=== Ingredients ===

* {{item |id=657 Berserk Potion}} : The Tool Dealer Shop in Comodo sells these.
* {{item |id=937 Venom Canine}} : Snakes, Anacondaqs and Sidewinders drop this. They spawn plenty at Moc_fild13 which is four maps east of Morroc or three maps south of Prontera.
* {{item |id=952 Cactus Needle}} : Mukas drop this but only spawn in few locations. The best places to hunt them en masse would be two maps south of Morroc (where Dragon Fly also spawns) or north east of Morroc (where Peco Pecos spawn).
* {{item |id=939 Bee Sting}} : Dropped by Hornets. They spawn the most at Mistress' map, but can additionally be found two maps east and one north of Geffen where Hornets and Poison Spores abound.
* {{item |id=7033 Poison Spore}} : Dropped by the monster of the same name.
* {{item |id=713 Empty Bottle}} : Dropped by different monsters. It is best to gather them from Mukas so as to be able to harvest two ingredients at once. Goats drop bottles at the highest rate.
* {{item |id=972 Karvonidailrol}} : Only dropped by four monsters and at very low rates. Poison Spores are the easiest to hunt at Pay_fild05. The number of Poison Spores compensate for the 0.03% drop rate of karvos. Lighthalzen Biolabs Lv 1 and Lv 2 offer an alternative with the monsters Remover and Gemini dropping karvos at 0.5% and 1.25% respectively. Another option is the Creator's skill called [[Cultivate Plant]], which at Lv 1 summons red or black mushrooms by chance using one {{item |id=921 Mushroom Spore}}. Red mushrooms drop karvos at 0.5%.

=== Formula ===

Success Rate = Base Rate + [ (Base Rate * DEX/50) + (Base Rate * LUK/100) ]

''*Base Rate is assumed to be at 20%.''

Simplified: Success Rate = 20% + (0.4% DEX) + (0.2% LUK)

=== Ways To Increase Success Chance ===

Decent base [[DEX]] and [[LUK]].
[[Blessing]]. (+10 [[DEX]])
[[Gloria]]. (+30 LUK)
[[Marionette Control]]. (skill of [[Minstrel]]/[[Gypsy]])
[[Battle Chant]]. (+20 stats)
Guild Skill [[Sharp Gaze]] (+5 [[DEX]] at level 5, not really recommended)
Equipments: Apple of Archer (+3 [[DEX]]), Lucky Mantle (+2 [[LUK]]), Quad Dexterous Knife x2 (+8 [[DEX]]), Crystal Pumps (+5 [[LUK]]), Nimble Gloves x2 (+8 [[DEX]])

=== Tips ===

* Wear the equipments above and get [[Blessing]] only after [[Marionette Control]] has been casted on the player to get the full [[DEX]] bonus.
* Have a [[Priest]] standby to [[Heal]] the player when Create Deadly Poison fails.
* Make use the [[Bard]] skill [[Magic Strings]] to reduce Create Deadly Poison's cast delay thus speeding up brewing.
* Only brew when either a [[Priest]] or a [[Minstrel]]/[[Gypsy]] can assist so {{item |id=972 Karvonidailrols}} won't be wasted.

=== Uses ===

* A requirement for [[Enchant Deadly Poison]] to activate.
* When {{item |id=678 Poison Bottles}} are used by a non-[[Assassin]] class character, it causes instant death.
* If an [[Assassin Cross]] drinks a Poison Bottle, they will be given a boost in [[ASPD]] for 30 seconds. This is not the same as using Poison Bottles by activating [[Enchant Deadly Poison]].

While active, all bolt spells have a chance of being cast instantly a second time immediately after the first bolt lands (skill level determines the chance).
== Information ==
* Trap Duration (but not Immobilization Duration) lasts 4 times as long in WoE.
* Guild castles contain some map squares on which an Ankle Snare is not visible. Even though it can't be seen, the snare is still there and functional.
* In PvP and WoE, snares will trap all players, even the player who set the snare.
* In WoE, players may move past a snare before coming to a stop. They may also occupy multiple snares. When this happens, the Immobilization Duration of the first snare they encountered determines how long they remain trapped. All of the snares they occupy will vanish at the same time. Casting Remove Trap on any of the snares will remove all of the snares, but return only 1 Trap. See the discussion for more in-depth information.
* The action against some "boss" flagged monsters is similar to that of players in WoE. They may move past a snare before stopping, and may occupy multiple snares. Be careful when trapping these monsters.
* Ankle Snare can be cast into "nothingness". When casting Ankle Snare onto a forbidden (black) area of the map, the skill will fail with a warning message, and no SP or Trap will be used. However, if the skill is cast onto a map square which is occupied by an object (not a monster/player), the SP and Trap will be consumed, but an Ankle Snare will not be laid and a warning message will not be issued. These map squares can be identified when the green targeting square vanishes. Clock Tower 3, is an example of a map full of (non-obvious) locations that will cause this. Many guild castles also contain map squares with this behavior, only the targeting square might not disappear.
